To keep your hardness testers compliant between calibrations, Gibitre Certified Hardness Specimens provide a simple, reliable solution. In accordance with ISO 48-4:2018 (10.2) and aligned with ASTM D2240 practices, they enable weekly verification of instruments against standard rubber blocks, making intermediate measurement checks fast when hardness is critical to product conformity.
Each specimen is supplied in a protective wooden case that shields it from temperature variations and sunlight. A Calibration Report, traceable to the certified master instrument used for the measurement, accompanies every piece, while a unique identification label ensures full traceability and helps prevent measurement errors.
With Gibitre Specimens, you can regularly verify the compliance of your hardness testers between successive calibrations, as required for tools in routine use by ISO 48-4. A practical choice for checking the hardness of rubber materials with measurement tools you can trust.
Overview
The use of certified samples permits to perform periodical verification of the conformity of the reading of your hardness testers in the period between two calibrations.
According to ISO 48-4 Standard (par. 10.2):'Instruments in regular use shall be checked at least each week against standard rubber blocks.'
Periodical verification is useful considering the importance of hardness as a testing parameter.
Available Configurations
The following configurations are available:
• Complete box containing 3 specimens with approximate hardnesses of 55 - 70 - 80 Shore D points.
• Box containing one sample with hardness of your choice among those available.
Calibration Report
The samples are provided with Calibration Certificate with traceability to the hardness tester used for the measurements with Official Accredia Certificate issued by ISO 17025-Accredited Laboratory of Gibitre Instruments.
Unique Sample Identification
Specimens are individually identified by an identification label to ensure proper calibration traceability and avoid measurement errors.
Protection Box
The samples are provide with an insulated protection case that permits the protection of the samples from temperature variations and from the light.

The samples have unique identification code to permit the traceability of the calibration
Calibration Report

Duration of the Calibration
The reference blocks shall be recalibrated once a year (ref. ISO 48-4:2018 par. 10.4)
